In need of my macross fix

As anticipated, I have been slowly progressing with Red Five Kit, and I found myself in need of my macross fix and I found this amazing 3D renders by AgaveCactus, I wish hasegawa wave or anyone would consider doing some different kits, they seem to only do VF-1 kits with different decals, it's predictable and I´m kinda tired of it, that is why I found this renders refreshing and amazing.

Evangelion Another Impact

My love for evangelion is only exeded by the one I have for Macross and Armored Core, I fiund this CGI short film directed by Shinji Aramaki (Appleseed, Captain Harlock) absolutely outstanding.

Current project

On the last couple of weeks I have been working on this kit, this is the first time I did the complete assembly before doing any paint, mainly because the design it's very unique and didn´t recognize most of the parts until they were assembled, it looks OK with just the main assembly, the kit includes some decals, but I feel those decals can make it look worse instead of better, so I won't use them, if you want every deatail you see on the anime you'll need to do extensive paint, My plan is to paint all the accents and pieces on slightly diferent shades of red, gray and gold.
The name of the kit should be White Five after all it's main colour it's white, that is why  I'll paint a few more red accents, add some custom details like a few panel lines and waterslides, maybe even rivets. It might take a while to finish this kit...

Turn X detailed

I dont hate Gundam but usually, I avoid posting those kits at all cost, just because you can see that stuff everywhere on the Internet, but, I will make an exception everytime I find awesome stuff like this Turn X, I mean it doesn´t have mech miniskirt like most of the gundam stuff and with this heavy customisation it looks more like an alien mech, than something from the gundam series.

1/35 Tachikoma by Kotobukiya

It took me a while to complete this project, almost two months, and allot more in the planing and experimenting with digital camo, first I painted a cardboard box, then an Xbox 360 controller (I'll post that later) then another box, and still, I was not completely satisfied, I also did another quick project at the middle of this one. The build was not complicated at all, if you do a straight out of the box build it might take you an hour or two, but since I didn't wanted the blue factory tachikoma I ended up painting everything on the kit, this were the results:

This kit is even smaller than the 1/35 Logicoma, but with the same charm, its hard not to love this little guy.

articulation is highly limited everywhere and the wheels don't spin, don´t expect to pull out exotic poses out of it.

Details are awesome as always with kotobukiya kits, the fit is so tight that you have to be careful every time you paint a piece, if you paint the union pegs, you wont be able to snap the piece all the way in, it's awesome how kotobukiya manages to do this kind of fit.

Everywhere you set your eyes on there's something to look at with this little guy

It comes with a few extra parts like the grenade launcher, which I couldn't use because I painted it, and it didn´t fit anymore, No biggie, I was planing on displaying it with the Gatling gun anyway, for the clear "stand" you'll have to remove the eye that's placed beneath the cockpit, it also comes with a Makoto and a Batou figures.

I added a few details, like the cables inside the cockpit, and the holes in the Gatling gun, hands and other small pieces

there are not many gimmicks, but the ones it has, are very cool, like the cockpit

Makoto can ride inside the Tachikoma

My overall thoughts: this kit is a great addition to my collection, and if you are a fan of Ghost in the shell like me, it's a must have, even with the poor articulation and small size this charming piece of plastic it's worth the price.

Armored Core - Rayleonard 03-Aaliyah "Caprice"

Sometimes, you can find gems on the vast World Wide Web, this is an example of that, this kit is an example of how the armored core kits should look like, here you can find the original post, along with some coments by the creator like the techniques and the decal sets he used to make this beautifull Aaliyah, Enjoy.

Here it is with another aesome mech I've been trying to get my hands on, the Ambient, another bad ass looking kit from Armored core, but the prices for this kit are sky high, :( so if anyone finds an ambient kit that is decenlty priced, please let me know in the coments or message me.
